Just thought tumblr ought to know
I am somewhat inebriated. Had a gig with the Funk Soul Sisters this afternoon, and it was good and enjoyable, and there was free beer and wine at the event which was good and enjoyable, and then we went to the pub and drank more beer which was good and enoyable. And now I’m home. Yeah, It was all good and enjoyable.

Magic time!
Pick up the closest book to you and turn to page 91. The 7th word of the 2nd sentence on that page will be your grandmother’s maiden name. It really works, try it.

The banana I just ate was of absolutely optimal ripeness. It was at the apotheosis, the epitome, the apex of ripeness. That’s how perfectly ripe it was. You all ought to be envious of me.

“(something something) The Hobbit Sam and Frodo Fuck Robert” I went to a party last night, it was very enjoyable, but I think the highlight of the night was provided by a guy on the train on the way there. He was freestyle rapping for all to hear, and a shining example of his lyrics being displayed for you enjoyment above. I have no idea who Robert is.

I enjoyed it. The plot was a bit odd to say the least though.

"A History of Scotland"
It’s on the TV at the moment. I’m not really listening, just being lulled by the loveliness of having a Scottish accent on in the background.

knitttingandshit: the problem with those ‘missing person’ posts is that if someone goes missing in sydney the post is hardly going to be helpful when someone from toronto sees it on their dashboard and starts raking their brains for a memory of this person on the street and no one ever writes where the person went missing I’ve never even seen the name of the country they live in on one of...

I think the whole world ought to know that
It’s raining in a far off corner of Australia. Really quite hard. And I just heard about the loudest thunderclap I’ve ever heard. It’s amazing how when lightning strikes so close that it really is a thunder-CLAP, as opposed to the thunder-rumble that we all are familiar with.

Since when did selecting a miniature half-a-second gif, from among hundreds or thousands of them in a file on one’s computer, become a valid form of expressing your opinion?

Beethoven Was Black →
bakethatlinguist: meganphntmgrl: A pretty shocking overview of how Beethoven’s racial heritage has been pretty much totally erased from history in favor of a whitewashed popular image. Why didn’t I know this?! He’s one of my favorite composers!!!! I had to write papers on him for orchestra! Man…This is just like when I found out that the dude who wrote the Comte of Monte Cristo was...

the-metres-gained replied to your post: A tragic tale. your cat’s name is Trieste. Oh man. That’s beautiful. As a matter of fact, this family sort of has a thing for naming cats after place names. Other cats we’ve had include Florence, Dimboola, and Sarah. Sarah, you ask? It’s short for Sierra Leone.

A tragic tale.
Getting up to turn the television on to watch the news, I noticed out of the corner of my eye our cat Trieste playing with something on the floor. Upon closer inspection I noticed a poor defenceless paralysed dragonfly clinging to a jumper of Leon’s lying on the floor. Feeling sorry for it, I decided to try and rescue it: I picked it up and despite its struggling once it had awoken from its...

A girl with whom I went to school invited me to her 20th birthday celebration over facebook. Now, despite being friends with her on facebook, in reality I haven’t uttered a word to her in about 5 or 6 years, not even online. The question is, how on earth did I get an invitation? Yes, she did invite about 500 people, but I checked her profile, and she has about 1000 facebook friends. What...

To Debate, and To Argue
They have pretty similar meanings. And yet, there is considerable difference between the words ‘debatable’ and ‘arguable’. If you call something debatable, you really doubt its veracity. But if you call something arguable, you think there’s a considerable chance that it’s true.
